Commissioner for Education, Imo State, Prof. John Cliff Ckike Nwadike, has lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for improving the status and standard of Imo State University Owerri to a World Class Varsity.
He made the remarks in an interview with our reporter during the 8th Convocation Ceremony of Imo State University Owerri, held on Saturday, at the University’s Convocation Pavilion.
The Commissioner stressed that IMSU was being rated as a “first class university because of the seriousness Imo State Government attaches to education. All that is required in terms of personnel and resources are provided and because of the quality of manpower and the capacity of the overall staff of the university IMSU is soaring higher”.
Nwadike, who expressed satisfaction on the richness, spectacular and success of the convocation ceremony, pointed out that “for the past years, the university has not witnessed such important occasion. But today Governor Hope Uzodimma has made the convocation ceremony a reality and a worthwhile. His Excellency is dynamic, he loves education and we are happy for the success and smoothness of the convocation ceremony”.
Nwadike called on the university staff to keep raising the bar for academic excellence in the university, just as he encouraged students of the institution to work hard to graduate in flying colors, be employable and in turn be creators of labour for the good, prosperity and progress of Imo State.
