Many are the afflictions of obvious and barefaced acts of witch-hunting the innocent, perverting justice and denying winners, crown of success.
Imagine, how time flies, a few months ago; yes! Few months, just like our Lord, Jesus Christ, counts time (2Peter 3:8), Rochas Okorocha, posed, the god Jupiter of Imo State, who dishes out ex-cathedra pronouncements to the uncomprehending hoi-polloi. But, probably, forgot “the earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof, the world, and they that dwell therein.” A costly lesson; coming too late.
It is apt and reasonable that, the incumbent Czar, Gov. Hope Uzodinma, should also learn this great lesson of history, that; “END is the inseparable compliment of every BEGINING”. Already, there are obvious indications that His Excellency, is fast speeding off track with obscure and inordinate policies that negate the dictates, spirit and letters of the constitution and the smooth flow of fundamental human rights
Frankly, our leaders must learn this awesome lesson of differentiating between AMBITION and GREED because the dividing line is both slim and thin.
While, Ambition is positive, progressive and commendable; Greed is negative, dangerous and destructive.
Though, the two may have same and similar propelling force. Ambition enables the human inert potentials, drives inertia and encourage hard work and sustainability predicated on morality while Greed swallows conscience, murders reasonability in the altar of vanity and super drives to lust and irredeemable blast in the creeks of irresponsibility.
Greed begets insatiability that fertilise jealousy and wickedness.
Paradoxically, greed is the greatest problem of most African leaders: they desire and pray for riches, and when that is granted, they seek to become millionaires, after which, their cravings and skimming to join the billionaires club become intense and grave.
What of those who have bought/allotted over one thousand landed properties to self, wards, siblings and in-laws; yet, not satisfied, still pushing for more in same city and other major cities of the world. On the grounds that, even if, it entails disposesing legitimate owners, no qualms. Ideally, nothing would have been responsible for this, if not greed.
Our politicians seek for power, more power, more and more power; from ‘just’ one tenure to two, after which, they ask for third; if that fails, they seek for other positions. And, that’s greed!
Predominantly, our politicians revolve around governorship, National Assembly (NASS), Federal Executive Council FEC, Board Headship and sometimes a shot or 2 at the presidency, just to permanently block the political airwaves and remain in power for ever. All these have greed as the fountain head. But, God is not a man.
Anyone, infested with ‘greed’ behaves in manner synonymous with that of a lunatic whose identity lies with the uncontrollable desire for unabated accumulation of garbage; even when, the lunatic has no singular need for it; yet, the lunatic can pose for serious war on the slightest attempt to decongest or purge him/her of the garbage (waste) belongings.
But, what on earth, will these greedy Pipers do with these obsessive and excessive cravings for acquisitions? Yet everything around them live in wretchedness, poverty strangulation and intimidation; even pastors and General Overseers are flying various number and forms of private jet, yet majority of Nigerians wallow in hunger and penury.
Ofcourse, there’s always a time of afflictions and restitution, like it’s boiling in Imo now.
Certainly! They won’t be fondly remembered by history.
“All the articles, Nebuchadnezzar took away from the temple of God in Jerusalem to the temple of Babel in Babylon must be returned, to rebuild the temple of God in Jerusalem.” The Lord warned.
