A human rights organization, Genius Eyes International Foundation for the Hopeless has petitioned the Imo state Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, for the alleged defilement of a 14- year- old girl, Nmesoma Achilike, by two siblings, Chigozie Emegha and Promise Emegha. The petition which was signed by the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Paulcy Iwuala, said that apart from defiling the girl, who hails from Imerienwe in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, the siblings also impregnated the “poor girl who is a minor.”
The human rights activist, who briefed journalists in Owerri, the state capital, on Tuesday, said that the girl had put to bed a set of twins following the defilement. Iwuala, who said that the girl was helpless, said that the mother of the suspects, sent the girl parking when she realized that the 14-year- old who was her maid was pregnant.
Iwuala said” we are a human Rights group and we seeking for nothing but justice for the poor girl. This a copy of a petition we addressed to the Imo state Commissioner of Police, urging him to help us and the society get justice for this poor, voiceless and helpless girl who was defiled and impregnated by her Madam’s two grown-up sons.
” The two grown up sons are, Chigozie Emegha who is married with three daughters and Chigozie Emegha, who just finished his secondary school education. They hail from Imerienwe in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State. The defilement has left the poor girl who has no father but a poor mother and seven siblings with a set of twins. She was delivered of a set of twins ( a boy and a girl) on April 19, 2021, at a local Health Center in Ubomiri in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. The poor girl was sent parking by her Madam immediately she realized that the girl had become pregnant as a result of defilment by her two sons. The girl and her newly born twins are helpless without help except the little our organization is doing to assist them.
We passionately appeal to the Imo CP in the interest of the welfare of these newly born twins to give them and their little mother justice. We are ready to provide this girl anything the office of the CP needs her in the cause of the investigation. As a human Rights movement that belives in justice, we are also ready to help the the CP’s office to ensure that the poor girl and her twins get justice.”
The defiled girl told Journalists, that her Madam’s two grown-up sons defiled her seperatly within 48 hours in 2020 and her madam sent her parking after she realized” that my body sharp had changed and my breasts were becoming bigger. She knows that her sons slept me. I told her and her eldest son who is a pastor caught Chigozie the first day he was forcefully sleeping with me.”
When contacted, the police Spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said that the command would swiftly act on the petition once the petition is received. The police spokesperson said ” the state Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, had zero tolerance for crimes. But be rest assured that the CP will expediently work on the petition once it is received. Defilement is a serious crime in our laws and be assured again that the CP will do justice to the petition once it is received.”
