Police have apprehended a twenty three (23) year old man, Wisdom Uzoma, for allegedly murdering a twenty three (23) year old man, Tobechukwu Chijioke Duru, at Agwa, Oguta local government area, Imo State, last Sunday.
The Imo State Police Command revealed this in a statement made available to the media in Owerri through the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando.
The police disclosed that the killing was due to bloody clash between two rival cults at Obudi Agwa Secondary School premises, Agwa, Oguta.
The police stated that “on the 20/02/2021, through a distress call, operatives of the command moved to Agwa Secondary School, Agwa, Oguta local government area, Imo State.
“Upon arrival at the scene, operatives met the remains of a young man who was later identified as Tobechi Chijioke Duru, who was 23 years old, of Obudi Agwa, Oguta, Imo State. He was said to have been killed while two rival cult groups clashed at the school premises”.
Ikokwu added that “on the 21/02/2021, based on discreet and painstaking investigations, operatives of the command arrested the fleeing suspect, Wisdom Uzoma, who was 23 years old, of Obudi Agwa, Oguta Imo State. He confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted accordingly”.
