The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons has raised the alarm over the increasing cases of child trafficking in the state.
State coordinator of the Agency, Ikediachi Nwa-Amaka in an interview with journalists, said cases of trafficking have been a thing of worry.
She said children are being taken for unknown purposes especially in the beginning of the year, warning parents and guardian to be watchful and vigilante.
She reminded the public that the law against having house helps who are twelve years old or below is still in place and will be applied when necessary.
Nwa-Amaka said the duty of securing lives of children and the society is in the hands of the public as she charged everyone to be on the look-out for mass migration from rural areas to the cities this new year.
