Magistrate Court 2 sitting in Awka Anambra State on Friday sentenced a traffic offender, Mr. Okoli Emenike Cornelius to 6 months imprisonment for driving against traffic and dangerous driving.
AG Sector Public Relation officer of the Anambra command, DRC Margaret B Onabe disclosed this to journalist in a press statement.
According to the statement “Mr. Okoli Emenike Cornelius was apprehended by FRSC Anambra on the 1st of August 2021 for driving his blue Mercedes Benz ML350 SUV car with registration number: EKY405FB against traffic and consequently led to a head-on collision with a Toyota Corolla car just opposite the FRSC RS5. 3, Anambra State Sector Command office.
He was sentence by the court after being found guilty”. “The offender was convicted and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment with option of ₦50,000.00 fine for driving against traffic, route violation (RTV) and dangerous driving (DGD)”.
The Sector Commander Corps Commander Adeoye A Irelewuyi however condemned the act of route violations that has become a normal tradition in Anambra State.
He warned all motorists in Anambra State to desist from route violations, dangerous driving and all other traffic offences or face legal action.
