… Blames cold weather
A man believed to be 35 years has been arrested in Ibere, Ikwuano LGA of Abia State for allegedly raping a little girl of 5 years. The suspect, who was simply called Yellow by some members of the crowd, was arrested after he allegedly had canal knowledge of the child, inside his compound. It was gathered that some eagle-eyed villagers, who noticed unusual steps of the little girl, asked her what was wrong with her. It was also gathered that the little girl who started crying, pointed at the suspect without saying anything further. A source from Ibere told newsmen that a closer look check was carried on the child by the curious natives, which allegedly revealed that she was raped.
The source said that the suspect, Yellow Boy, was immediately arrested by youths who gave him the beating of his life. “To save his life, the suspected rapist started confessing his crime but blaming it on cold weather”, the villager said, under anonymity.
News Echo gathered that the suspect before he was handed over to the local security outfit in the community, pleaded for mercy. He was said to have told the angry crowd that he bought some groundnut, which he used in luring the girl into the inner compound. According to his trending video, Yellow said he was misled by the devil and the cold weather. “I don’t know what came over me to do what I did. I am sorry. Rain fall and my body became somehow.
It was groundnut that I bought and gave some to her. You people should forgive me”, he said in the video. It was not established if the suspect was been handed over to the Police for thorough investigation, or not. The PPRO of Abia State Police Command, ASP Maureen Chinaka is yet to confirm the ugly incident.
