A former member of the Imo state House of Assembly and Ex Speaker, Rt. Hon. Lawman Duruji has been reportedly kidnapped on Saturday by gunmen while returning from a function at Oriagu junction at Ehime Mbano LGA of Imo state.
Also kidnapped was the wife of an ex chairman of Okigwe LGA. Hon. Frank Onwumere whose kidnap took place on Sunday.
In the same vein a popular businessman in the state identified as Ezzybee was also kidnapped on his way going to watch a local football match.
The series of kidnapping were said to have taken place on Saturday and Sundays last weekend.
The Imo state public Relations Officer Mike Abattam confirmed the incidence and said, the victims kidnapped at Ubomiri has been rescued while the police is on the trail of the kidnappers and working assiduously to effect the rescue of the other victims.
