The police in Delta state has paraded a gang of ritualists, who kidnapped a victim on her way from the farm for ritual purpose.
The victim, one Joy Osameze, aged 39, was kidnapped on February 5, 2021 on her way back from the farm at Abraka Farm reserve, Obiaruku, in Ukwuani local government area of Delta state.
Five suspects, Emmanuel Ojibe 18, Osam Ogolime 21, Ossai Reuben 22, Odigili chukwutem 33 and Ukpaka Confidence aged 20; were arrested March 7, in connection with the crime and transferred to the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crimes Squad (SAKCCS), Asaba
One of the suspects, Emmanuel Ojibe, according to the Commissioner of Police, Ari Mohammed Ali confessed to the kidnap and led SAKCCS operatives to the arrest of a three-man ritual gang, involving one Razaq Ifamaye 38 and Gbenga Olawuyi 50; both natives of Ekiti State, but resident at Old Market Road, Obiaruku. The third member of the gang, one Samson Oduni 31 year old native of Obiaruku.
CP Ali disclosed that upon interrogation, Razaq Ifamaye confessed to the crimes and led Police operatives to Shegelo Beach, Obiaruku on March 9, where a Bag containing human skull and other human parts suspected to be that of the victim were recovered.
“One Chikogwu Isaac 38, A.K.A Ikukwu, a native of Obiaruku in whose premises the human parts were found, had instigated four accomplices, who are now at large, to attack the police operatives in order to prevent/obstruct the operatives from making the recovery.
“He was however arrested and the human remains were taken to the Agbor General Hospital for autopsy, while investigation is ongoing”, the Police Commissioner added.
