Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Anambra state has reinstated its preparedness to partner with various security agencies in the state to eradicate financial crimes, cyber fraud and other financial related crimes.
The Branch Controller, Mr. Benedict Maduagwu gave the assurance during a security parley with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the State.

He said the parley was part of the apex bank’s agenda to maintain a healthy working relationship with various security agencies in the country
“The CBN called for the parley to foster closer relationship with security agencies to facilitate the effectiveness of CBN’s operation in Anambra State,” he said.
He maintained that CBN had always collaborated with security agencies to eradicating fraudulent activities of fraudsters who are eager to defraud unsuspecting victims.

Maduagwu also advised the public not to disclose banking details with anyone, adding that fraudsters were eager to take advantage of such information to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Responding, State Commandant, Comdt Everestus Obiyo represented by his Second in Command (2ic) DCC Steve Ikeorha commended CBN for its regulatory formulation policies towards ensuring public funds are kept safe.

He reiterated the need for robust partnership with the NSCDC, adding that the collaboration would yield positive results if cemented between the two organizations to monitor new trends on financial crimes as it affects the public.
He solicited for CBN’s operational support and other logistics as part of their social cooperative responsibilities.
