… Victim suffers fractured bones
Five staff of the Traffic and Indiscipline Agency of Abia State (TIMAAS) have been arraigned in Court on charges bordering on occasioning harm by pushing one Miss Kelly, a 17-year-old girl down from a moving vehicle.
The defendants, according to the charges, committed the offence at Brass junction, Aba while the TIMAAS officials were on ‘duty’.
The suit MAE/78/2022 was brought before Magistrate S.E. Elekeson of Abia Magistrate Court, sitting in Aba Magisterial District, Aba.
In the suit, Commissioner of Police vs Onwughara Victor and four others, the defendants were charged for pushing down the teenager from a moving vehicle, which resulted to her suffering fractured bones.
The Court was also told that the injured Miss Kelly was initially admitted at Police clinic Aba but has now been transferred to a local bone setter who is now trying to reset her fractured bones.
When their charges were read out during first hearing, Victor Onwuhara and others pleaded not guilty to the offences.
After listening to their prayers for bail, Magistrate, S.E. Elekeson granted the TIMAAS officials bail at N2.5 m bond.
The General Manager of TIMAAS, Bright Ikokwu who signed as surety for the bailed officials, was ordered by the Magistrate to deposit his two passport photographs with the Court.
