Police operatives in the Anambra State Command have arrested a twenty eight year old young man for allegedly killing his wife and daughter with a shovel in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.
Haruna Mohammed (CSP) the Police Public Relations Of-ficer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Command revealed this in a press statement.
He said that about 7:45pm on Tuesday, 26th, 2021 police operatives at-tached to Ozubulu Police Station, arrested twenty eight year old Chukwuemeka Obijofa of Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State who allegedly ran insane in circumstances yet to be ascertained and attacked his wife, one Chisom Chukwuemeka, ‘f’, aged 26 years, and own child, named Amanda Chukwue-meka, ‘m’, aged 4 years, both of same address, with a shovel on their heads.
Mohammed said that the sus-pect equally used same object and wounded a vigilante man who tried to rescue the victims. The PPRO said police de-tectives visited the scene and rushed victims to the Joint Hospital, Ozubulu, for med-ical attention where the two victims were certified dead by a medical doctor on arrival.
According to Mohammed, the wounded vigilante is re-sponding to treatment, while the corpses of the victims were deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy
