Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has categorically declared that his administration will never leave Mbaise Nation behind in its developmental programmes.
The governor made this declaration while speaking during the New Yam Festival of Mbaise Nation ( Iriji Mbaise) traditional festival on Tuesday, during which he was conferred a Chieftaincy title of “Enyioma Mbaise” (Good friend of Mbaise)
“I will leave this Mbaise Nation better than I met it and there will be significant development in Mbaise Nation. Take me as one of your own, for I have taken you as one of my own people”.
Uzodimma described Mbaise as a great nation, which boasts of highly educated men and women, even as civilization started in the area. He urged them to forget the past to give room to forge ahead.
The governor described the New Yam Festival (Iriji Mbaise) as one of the biggest cultural festivals in Igbo land which no lover of the Nation should joke with or play politics with.
He appreciated traditional rulers of Mbaise for the Chieftaincy title conferred on him despite all the treats from political enemies.
