The Commissioner for Public Orientation and Religious Affairs, Hon. Anthony Ikechukwu Okonkwo, has said that Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, is not an accidental Governor like the former governors of the state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim and Senator Rochas Okorocha.
He said Uzodimma is a God sent governor hence he had performed far better than Ohakim and Okorocha in all areas of governance, politics and what have you.
Okonkwo stated this while having audience with journalists at his office in Owerri on Tuesday, saying Governor Hope Uzodimma reelection is an assured reality having performed wonderfully in his first tenure and will do more when he is reelected.
The Commissioner mentioned that Governor Hope Uzodimma has really performed well especially in terms of making civil servants to smile always, the construction of quality roads in Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu Senatorial Zones of Imo State, improvement in electricity supply, youth rejuvenation through ICT skill training, formulation, implementation of good policies among other achievements too numerous to mention.
According to him, “Governor Hope Uzodimma is going for second tenure. It is an assured reality because his first tenure was good and no body can stop him. He has the grace of God. He has a covenant with God who has not disappointed him.
His opponents should leave him to complete his good work. Politics is a vocation and not all persons should be into politics. There is need for politicians to have a positive change of mindset, as most politicians are suffering from amnesia. They should rather join hands with Uzodinma to move the state forward”.
Okonkwo who liaises between the church and the state, stressed that “Hope Uzodimma is diplomatic, easily going, peaceful, loving and places God first in all he does. He scored 97.8 on security. Imo is living peacefully because the Governor is peace-loving, humane, generous and ideal. He has not disappointed anyone and he does not believe in sycophancy or pull him down. I clap for him for doing things extraordinarily. I will always support him as he reconstructs, rehabilitates and recovers Imo State”.
The UK trained security expert thus called on Imo people to remain committed in their resolve to reelect Governor Hope Uzodimma for second term in office in order to consolidate good governance so that dividends of democracy, peace, security, hospitality, worship of God will continue to be hallmarks of the state.
