Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has flagged off the construction of Awo Omamma-Okwudor Road.
Speaking during the flag off, the governor said,
“In line with our position on quality road construction, we are today flagging off this road which is going to be constructed by a renowned and world class Chinese contracting firm who will deliver it in 18 months.
“Within eighteen months time, we will have a world class road that will compete with any other construction any place in the world. It is therefore to the glory of God and
service to humanity that I flag off the construction of Awo Omamma-Okwudo Road”.
In a similar development, the governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma has inspected the ongoing remedial reconstruction work at the bad spot of Onitsha-Owerri Road at Mgbidi axis.
Speaking during the inspection, the governor said, “We are trying to intervene, given that the Christmas season is at hand, to reduce the stress which passengers will suffer during this period.
“I went there personally to inspect the extent of work done, to ensure that within record time the work will be completed”.
The commissioner for works, Ralph Nwosu noted that the last time construction was done on the road was in the 70″s, pointing out that for over forty years previous administrations came on board and in line with its recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction agenda awarded contact for the road’s construction.
