The Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma has exonerated IPOB over incessant insecurity challenges in the state but stated that the problem of insecurity is the handiwork of wicked politicians not IPOB.
He stated this while addressing a cross section of Imolites in the Owerri during the Easter celebration. The governor decried the mayhem been caused so far by the perpetrators of the unrest that has bedeviled the state in the recent times.
Uzodimma lamented that Imo state is passing through perilous times where abnormal killings and wanton destruction has become the other of the day. He stated that the government has done alot to abate the security challenges but it still persists.
He reminded the perpetrators that the government has not adopted horrible measures to suite the perpetrators but has been a bit patience to give them chance to turn a new leaf.
He maintained that IPOB should not be blamed for the security issues but those who play politics with bitterness should be held responsible. He stated further that looking at the spree of killings in the state, it’s obvious that the killings are targeted at APC leaders across the state and none of the attack has been meted to any other party.
He threatened that his government will not fold it’s hands and watch the senseless Killings to continue but will apply every stringent measures to ensure the security challenges is abated. He disclosed also that the people causing all this also blackmail the government of being responsible for all the security challenges and warned that the killing of innocent citizens must stop.
