The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma on Mass Transit, Hon. Anthony Anyaehie has made it clear that the soon to commence Imo Mass transit will contribute in no small measure to cushion the harsh economic effects occasioned by the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as fuel by the federal government.
Anyaehie made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen after being sworn-in by the governor, among other political appointees, at the Government House, Owerri, Monday.
He promised that, in line with the pronouncement of the governor during a recent stakeholders meeting, Imolites will soon have a modern mass transit that will be very affordable, as part of palliative to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal on the citizens.
The SA lauded the transformational leadership of the governor in the state, which he said has written his name in gold.
“The kind of programmes this man has for the state is so enormous that Imolites will in many years to come be singing his name, the way they have been singing the Mbakwe song.
He declared that the second term mandate of Governor Uzodimma is almost a foregone conclusion.
“The man has proven himself, he will keep proving himself. Imolites will continue to be happy”.
While appreciating the governor for his appointment, he made it clear that he has always been a supporter of Senator Hope Uzodimma.
“I have been a loyalist for long, so I am not that surprised over the appointment, I am so excited and elated about it”.
