The British Council and Swintec Computer Institute Owerri is embarking on a free six weeks training on International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Imo State.
In a one day IELTS Fair held at Owerri on Thursday, Swintech CEO, Pastor Felix Nnanwobu noted that the six weeks free training are for those who have registered for the IELTS, which is majorly on English proficiency test. He urged interested individuals to register with Swintec Computer Institute which is the only accredited institute in Imo State working with British Council for the IELTS training.
He disclosed that IELTS is one of the pre- requisite for those applying for visa.
According to him, IELTS is the international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers, stressing that IELTS system is highly regarded and widely recognized as the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration. He said IELTS through British Council has come to Imo for easy access.
In his remarks, the Business Development Manager of British Council, Felix Maduka who spoke to newsmen noted that if one wants to study abroad, work or visit someone in abroad , or settle in any English speaking country, IELTS paves makes it easier for one to travel, and appeal to Imo State citizens to avail themselves of the opportunity for the training so as to pass the English proficiency test which is necessary.
