The Heartland Queens of Owerri secured a 4:0 victory over the visiting Royal Queens of Warri at the Dan Anyiam stadium. The Imo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo, expressed his elation at the team’s impressive performance and dedicated the win to Gov Hope Uzodimma, following his re-election in the recent gubernatorial election.

Okoronkwo stated that the governor’s victory provided a major morale boost and encouragement for the team to continue their winning streak.

Okoronkwo emphasized the support the Ministry of Youth and Sports has received under Gov Hope Uzodimma’s administration and deemed it necessary to dedicate the victory to him. He highlighted the celebratory mood in Imo State following the election results.

During the match, Onyinyechi Kalu scored an early goal for the Heartland Queens in the 53rd second, followed by goals from Chidinma Anaele in the 9th minute, and Gift Afigbeditor and Chinedu Chinaka scoring subsequently.
