The President and General Overseer of Fulfilled Apostolic Gospel Church International INC, Bishop Shedrack Igbariam Ubani at the weekend hosted a thanks giving ceremony to mark his five years enthronement as a Bishop. He used the occasion to celebrate his award of a doctorate degree in philosophy
The event which took place at the church’s headquarters at Umuoshi-Laguru Ubakala, Umuahia Abia State was graced by dignitaries from the church, business moguls and traditional rulers.

The Bishop while presenting his address said that he was consecrated and enthroned as a bishop on 3rd April, 2016 but the thanksgiving service could not hold because of the pandemic and its consequent lockdown that prevented the event from holding last April, 2020.

He said that his desire to attain the Ivory tower held him tied down for the past five years but by the Glory of God that he has achieved that desire of Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D. Ubani also remarked that the event is unique and peculiar in the sense that is a double celebration.

The Guest Speaker and the Bishop of Methodist church Aba East, Rt. Rev. Dr. J. A. Anyanwu, while speaking on the theme, Mystery of thanksgiving encouraged the church to be thankful, they must not wait for great things to happen to them before they can express gratitude. They should be thankful for things that God has given to them for free like Life, Salvation, Air, and Water and so on.

The Bishop while speaking to newsmen said that one of the reasons that he has not done the thanksgiving was that when he was enthroned he was a masters degree candidate and he had gone for his Ph.D immediately. He was done with his masters degree programme and had just graduated last year December. So he had dedicated that it was going to be a big celebration because all his achievement were all by merit and by the mercies of God.

He also said that thanksgiving is a part of our lives and should not be ceremonial, it should not be educational, and it should be moment by moment occurrence. He admonished the people to continually remain grateful adding that 1 Thess. 5 vs, 18 urged us to remain grateful in all things no matter the circumstances.
