Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Owerri Presbytery inaugurates Orji as Parish

The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Owerri Presbytery has concluded plans to inaugurate Orji Congregation, Parish come this Sunday, 6th June.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, the Owerri Presbytery Moderator, Rt. Rev. Mrs. Grace Enene Oku hinted that all the processes and procedures necessary to make a congregation a parish have been conducted, adding that Orji when inaugurated will be number ten of the parishes in the bounds of Owerri Presbytery.

The Moderator who is equally the minister in-charge of Uratta parish posited that Orji has done their bid in ensuring that the parish moved forward, stressing that the relationship existing between Uratta Parish will continue to be stronger even after they have been made a parish. She encouraged members of the presbytery to make themselves available on Sunday to make the event worth the while.

In his contribution, the Owerri Presbytery Clerk, Very Rev. David Ama Kalu said that the presbytery will do everything within her power to give Orji the needed support as parish, adding that Orji has capable Elders and members who have the commitment and devotion to take the church to another level.

The Clerk who is equally the National Director, Presbyterian Students Fellowship (PSF) noted that no parish can succeed if the members of the church are not united in spirit and body. He called on the members to carry the new parish when inaugurated with love, care and tenderness to enable it succeed. He expressed delight that the inauguration is coming in a time like this when the church needs to be strong to populate the kingdom of God.

In their remarks, the associate minister, Rev. Godwin Agbor and Elder O.P. Onwuchekwa posited that the members of the church are happy and cannot wait for the inauguration which has been long expected even as the associate minister, Rev. Godwin Agbor expressed happiness that the inauguration was coming in his time. He prayed for the rapid growth of the church.
