The Sarikin Hausa in Abia State, HRH Alhaji Yaro Danladi has called for a peaceful coexistence between Muslims in Nigeria and their brothers from other religions.

HRH Danladi made the call in Umuahia after the Eid-El-Fitri prayer conducted in Umuahia to celebrate the great Muslim festival.

The leader of the Northern Community, who congratulated Muslims on the celebration, urged them to live their lives in accordance with the directive of Allah.

He urged Nigerians to put the country above ethnic, religious and professional considerations and to extend the hands of assistance to one another.

He commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the security agencies in Abia for their efforts in making the State a relatively peaceful place for residents.

The Sarikin Hausa advised Nigerians to speak the language of peace and to shun anything that may hamper the peace of the nation.

He expressed the hope that the nation would reclaim her true place in the comity of nations.

It was observed that all prayer grounds of Muslims in Umuahia were filed to brim by the Islamic faithful who came to listen to the teachings by their Imams.

Meanwhile, Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has congregated Muslims in Abia State on the celebration of their holy festival.

In a statement signed by Mr Obasi Onwuka, his Chief Press Secretary, Oko Chukwu urged them to live the lives that would promote peace, love and unity among Nigerians.
