As Moslems all over the world mark the end of the Ramadan fast, they have been reminded of their role in ensuring the sustainability of peace and unity irrespective of tribe and religion.
The Sarki Hausa community in Imo state, Alhaji Saidi Alwal Suleiman made this known in an interaction with newsmen in Owerri. The Hausa leader said that the essence of the celebration is to give thanks to almighty Allah for a successful holy month of the Ramadan fast that lasted for 30 days. He noted that it’s equally a period for sober reflection, seeking for forgiveness from Allah and total repentance He disclosed that the fast is obligatory where participants reflect on the way of Allah and the teachings of the Ramadan. He disclosed that the period afforded Muslims to pray for a successful conduct of the forth coming 2023 election and seek for an election that will produce a better leader that will ensure lasting peace and stability in the already destabilized country.
He further advised Moslems to eschew religious intolerance and seek to promote peace and unity in their neighborhood and the state at large.
Also speaking, to newsmen, the senior special Assistant to the Imo state governor on Northern Affairs, Ibrahim Suleiman seized the opportunity to extend the Eld el-fitr message of the Imo state governor Senator Hope Uzodimma to the Moslem community in the state assuring them of his love and support to ensure their safety. He noted that the governor wishes them a protection of Allah and a happy celebration.
The SA further prayed for peace to return back to the state and the country in general while urging the Moslem community to coexist with non Moslems to ensure peace He further advised them to continue to imbibe the teachings of the Ramadan so as to live a life worthy of emulation.
