A renowned clergyman of the Overcomers Christian Mission, Rev Nnamdi Akujor has urged Christians to focus on living a life of godliness, especially one that will endear them to receiving recognition and honour from God.
He stated this after receiving an award as the ‘Unique Burden Bearer’ from the women of the Overcomers Christian Mission during this year’s mothering Sunday that was held at the church headquarters at Aladinma Owerri.
The visibly elated man of God while speaking in appreciation to the honour done to him dedicated the award to the founder of the church, a renowned preacher of the gospel, late Archbishop Alexander Ezeugo Ekewuba and his wife, Bishop Francisca Ezeugo, who is presently the General Overseer of the church.
Rev Akujor who expressed delight over the honor given to him by the women, stated that an honor given by God is paramount. He said the recognition is based on the effort he has put in the work of God and urged upcoming Ministers to have vision, focus, live the life of holiness and obeying the word of God at all cost in order to succeed in their Ministry.
He disclosed that the biblical character of Job is a typical example of one who God has testified to be His servant though Job was not known but he was announced by God after a report by Satan against him.
The man of God who is the Head of the prayer force of the church and the coordinator of Tuesday prayer group, who has earned a lot of awards to his credit, said that some of the awards were for his immense contribution to the work of God, his philanthropic attributes, mentorship amongst others.
He noted that Christians should live a life of holiness and righteousness in order to be true examples of the believers.
He stated that though the standard of Christianity seems to have fallen, adding that God’s standard remains static. The man of God also commended some notable men of God who are still upholding the standard of Christ without lowering their standard just to follow the trend.
He reminded believers and men of God to refrain from much emphasis on prosperity sermons and preach the gospel of salvation which is the only way that leads to eternal life.
The clergyman further advised Christians to lead an exemplary life and not prevent people from embracing the gospel through their negative lifestyle. He however dedicated the award to the work of humanity and for the growth of the church.
