5th July, 2022 will not be forgotten in a hurry. A shining light, a son of positivity, teacher per excellence, Sports Psychologist and a leader in the religious circle Sir Dr Amos Agwamba, passed away at the beginning moments of Tuesday 5th July, 2022. Not many will have anything negative to say about a man who has affected in no small way, anyone who comes his way. Indeed not many will have few good words to say about a man who put in passion, energy and love into anything he gets into, be it his family, Education, Religion or sports. No wonder he is called Dr. Heartland.

To have an inkling as to how loved he was and how he infused his life’s energy on several parts of life Alloy Chukwuemeka, a prominent football administrator, described his demise as a “sad” loss. Dr. Amos Agwamba was a seasoned Sports Administrator per Excellence @ Fed poly Nekede Owerri. May his soul rest in peace.”
Similarly, Reverend Onyemaechi Charles Uruakpa, the State Secretary Organiser, Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Imo State Council, quipped; “It was with sadness and rude shock that I received the news of the sudden demise of Sir Dr Amos Agwamba which occurred in the late hours (night) of Tuesday July 5th.“Sir Dr Amos Agwamba until his death was the Chief of 19th OCBC connected with All Saints Anglican Church Umuguma.
He was a nice gentleman. “It is even more saddening recalling how the Late Sir Dr Amos Agwamba in collaboration with Lay Canon Hon. Sir Oguike ensured the success of the maiden enrolment of The Brigade Company few months ago. “He has fought the good fight and stood firm in the faith. “On behalf of The Boys Brigade Imo State Council, I sincerely commiserate with his dear son and pioneer Captain of 19th OCBC, Mr Nnaemeka Agwamba over the death. I earnestly pray God to grant his soul eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. You see?
Another part of his life that touched humanity was his abilities as a pen pusher. His touch of history, coupled with a knack for exhibiting hard but hidden truths deep sited in topical issues, unearthing salient facts and bringing them to the front burner was a major catch for News Echo Newspaper. In keeping with its tradition of identifying with its own, Clan Chief Prof, Chimezie Kingsley, Ebubemba Ikeduru, Publisher of the News Echo Newspapers and News Insider Magazine immediately sent a high powered delegation on Wednesday, 13th July, 2022 to commiserate and identify with the family of its contributor.
Led by the Managing Editor Mr. Bright Okereke, the News Editor Mr. Anthony Ogbekile as well as a Senior Reporter Ikenna Orioha, the team met with late Agwamba’s widow and his son Nnaemeka Chimezie Abiodun Agwamba. Pouring commiserations to the family the Managing Editor spoke of the brokenness of the publisher, Ebubemba Ikeduru as well as management and staff upon hearing of the demise of one of its own. It was a mixture of shock, sadness and a sense of resignation to the will of the almighty for the widow of the late Agwamba expressed.
Speaking in detail about the life and times of the Ugirike Autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, born Chief, Nnaemeka Chimezie Abiodun Agwamba, his second son was fulfilled to be part of his father’s life. “My late father, Dr Sir Amos Agwamba was a member of the Knight of St Christopher, Ikeduru. Until his death, he was the best father we could ever ask for. He was a proud man when it came to his achievements on the things of God. He was also a humble man in the essence that he could be friends to anyone and he is a silent achiever.
He was someone who loved his children and other persons as well. He was very educated and disciplined. When you have an encounter with him, he leaves you with a lasting impact. He is someone you would wish to be with. He loved the things of God. My father could sacrifice the last dime. He gave out his house to some Priests for the work of God. In fact, anything that had to do with glorifying God was a major part of his life. You could never take that away from him. Dr Amos Agwamba was a great lover of education.
It would have been very difficult to make an impression on him or strike a relationship with him without an intellectual wit. His educational background began from the Alvan Ikoku College of Education where he bagged an NCE, of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He proceeded to Britain for a second degree. He had a Masters degree in Education and then a PHD at the John F. Kennedy University in the U.S.A. He has also used his position as President of Ikeduru Council of Knights to touch lives.”

Dr Amos Agwamba contrary to the saying that the cemetery is filled the the greatest talents, emptied himself to every opart of humanity because he died empty.
