The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has revealed intentions of the Igbo socio-cultural organization to establish international markets in all states of the federation in a viral video on new media platforms.
While addressing a cross-section of investors and stakeholders, Chief Iwuanyanwu stated that 200 hectares of land has been secured in Abia State for traders within the area. “We are not telling our people to come home, rather we advise them to embrace diversification wherever they are.
“While the contractors will be leading the project, Ohaneze Ndigbo will be championing this business concept which Platinum Bank has offered to finance from start to finish. Speaking further, Iwuanyanwu hinted on the ease of doing business advantage of the initiative, which includes provision of trading spaces for those who would like to have a branch or branches in different states and carry out their businesses without let or hindrance.
He listed two key advantages of the initiative as enabling environment for business transactions, as well as employment opportunities, noting that the proposed plan for Umuahia component of the project will have two thousand units of shops, which indicates that there will be lots of business opportunities in the market. Narrating his encounter with foreigners who said they have traced their origin to Igboland, Iwuanyanwu stated that many of them approached him and pleaded for recognition, hence his decision to certify them as Ndigbo in diaspora, while anticipating them back home as soon as are done with the necessary arrangements.
