Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has said that the Federal Government and the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) are using the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammad Buhari, Laureate Onochie to destroy Igbo land.
The Apex Igbo Socio-cultural group said that Onochie’s and NEF’s call that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should not be released has exposed their plot to destroy Igbo land.
Ohanaeze urged FG to give urgent attention to the voices of the elderstatesmen, patriots, religious leaders, traditional rulers and well-meaning Nigerians on applying dialogue as the best way to end up the secessionist movements in the country.
They said that it has uncovered that the ulterior motives behind the reckless magniloquence and assertions is to push for FG to a regrettable path of destruction and cautioned that the FG should not fall for the gimmicks of the enemies of Nigerians.
The group said that President Buhari should dialogue with the South-East, not necessarily for the unity of the country but to restore the confidence of the International community who are not happy with the way FG is handling the genocidal and ethnic cleansing against the Igbo.
Ohanaeze also urged FG to alienate and distance itself from the campaigns of calumny against the release of political prisoners of conscience particularly, Nnamdi Kanu, stressing that the expectations of the proponents of such campaigns are for the self-destruction of the South-East.
Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Secretary-General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide advised the Federal Government to use dialogue to thwart and halt the looming dangers terrifying the unity and peace of the country.
Isiguzoro said that Ohanaeze’s suspicion of a plot to destroy the South East was reinforced with the recent unguarded grandiloquence and unpatriotic standpoints of both the Northern Elders Forum and Laureate Onochie, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said that there is a collaboration between the North Elders Forum and Buhari’s aides, to use the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu as a political tool for the enslavement of the South-East and return the region to the point where it recovered itself after the Biafra War ended 51 years ago.
“There is another subtle civil war going on in the southeast, the dynamics of the War on the South-East are FG’s provocative policies, the militarization of the South-East and political witch-hunt of Igbo politicians and businessmen sympathetic to the agonies and sufferings of the Igbo, and distract them from the legitimate quest for 2023.
“Northern Elders Forum endless onslaught of terror and aggression on the people of South-East are not hidden, they are often sponsoring her militant wing, the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), which mischievous and devilish rogue assignments are to provide satanic strategic blueprints that will help destroy the South-East, in the year 2017.
“CNG’s first assignment backed by NEF, was the infamous Quit Notice of Igbos in 19 Northern states, exactly when Nnamdi Kanu was first arrested.
“In 2021 immediately Kanu’s was rearrested, the militant wing of Northern Elders Forum, CNG approached Abuja High Court for Biafra referendum and disintegration of Nigeria with the evil intent to target 223 trillion Igbo investments and properties in the North.”
