A non governmental organization under the aegis of Youth Coalition for Education in Nigeria has presented the Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Anambra state Chapter, Surv. Gabriel Okeke with an award as the “Vangaurd of Societal Transformation in Nigeria”.
News Echo reports that the YOCEN was established to deliver vibrant and effective educational programme designed to assist those who do not have access to basic and qualitative educational services
The event which took place at Awka, the Anambra state capital had in attendance delegates from the YOCEN, Abuja led by Head of Mission/Secretary General Niger state, Hon Yakubu Nurudeen Yahaya.
Speaking during the presentation, Head of Mission/Secretary General Niger state, Hon Yakubu Nurudeen Yahaya noted that the award was in recognition of his immense contributions towards societal transformation, nation building and a better society.
“the organization the organization Celebrates professionalism not just politicians and the organization is aimed to contribute immensely to Education sector, they also recognize those who support and help the nation building”.
Also speaking, Director General Services, of YOCEN, Kogi state, Engr Abdulmuqsit Hassan Yusuf said “aside from his professionalism on survey instructions his contributions to human capital development the youth, church, immediate community, and other places has earned him the award and during our Congress someone from his immediate community brought out his name and nominated him for the award. After our investigation which deemed it fit to give him the award”
Responding, the Award Recipient, Chairman Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Anambra State Chapter, Surv. Gabriel Okeke expressed happiness and gratitude to the group for finding him worthy of the award.
According to Surv. Okeke, “I am overwhelmed and surprised among all how I was picked for the award, I never expected any award from them and I am so happy”
Advising the Group, the Chairman urged them to keep up their good work because it is not easy to organize youths and human being as a whole, infact this is a welcomed idea. “The organization should talk to the youth directly and teach them that success is based on hard work and that there is no shortcut to success”
High point of the event were the presentation of the Certificate of Noble Prize ofr Excellence and group photographs.
