Federal Capital Territory, Abuja during the week was filled to the brim as the new Senate and House of Reps members Elect of the 10th National Assembly were Inaugurated.
The ceremony which held sway top government officials, heads of various national departments, traditional leaders, party stalwarts, friends and allies present
The event which too took place on 13th of June 2023, in Abuja, had various Senatorial and House of Representatives Elect felicitate with their loved ones, friends, associates and party faifthuls in attendance amongst were the Anambra North Senator Elect, Dr Nwoye of Labour Party (LP) and second time winner of the Anambra South Senate, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah under the platform of Young Progressive Party (YPP).
The both ceremonies attracted men of dignitaries and who know who in the society, who at the event emphasized their different insights about the Senator representative of Anambra North Doc Nwoye and Distinguish Senator Ubah representative of Anambra East.
In an interview during the ceremony, Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association, in FCT, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi expressed pride at the feat his professional colleague, Dr Tony Nwoye has achieved politically. He stated that Nwoye has paved the way for other medical doctors to thrive politically adding that he was certain Nwoye would bring his wealth of experience in the medical profession and politically to bear in ensuring that Ndi Anambra North get their due share of quality representation.
In the vein, Chief Executive Officer, Dr Iguedo herbal drug, Kenneth Chiadinaizu Obalum, noted that ‘Nwoye is not a man to be advised on what to do becuase ‘he is a good man and he has been doing great works in Anambra North especially his hometown Nsugbe. I pray that God will continue to bless him with wisdom so that he can accomplish his good work in Anambra.
Barth Nwibe who hails from Igboukwu maintained that ‘Tony Nwoye is representing Ananmbra North but he is also representing Anambra state entirely and as such much is expected of him, he is an experienced legislator with the crowd am seeing here today he is a man of the people, and knowing him I believe he will bring back good evidence of democracy back to Anambra State particularly in Anambra North.
‘He is a strong Senator, he is going to be a voice for Anambra State as well as the Igbo land because we need leadership. ‘
‘I pray that God gives him good health and everything he needs to excel I no him and I believe he will make us proud’ .
‘So much is expected from the three senators in Anambra State particularly Tony because of his experience in party organization and ability to make things happen adding that he is young and vibrant, I believe they won’t let us down.’
Contributing, one of the Anambra Elder state man, Chief Sam Mendu (Onwa Ogidi) reiterated that ‘Nwoye has something in mind and that which he has in mind is a good thought for Ndi Anambra, he is a good man and won’t let us down, he will definitely do take Ndi igbo to the greatest height.’
I appreciate his hospitalities in this occasion, he has served me and every other persons here with good food before we get back to our different bases the people we left home will see the beginning of Tony’s good work from our look because I personally will get fat before I leave here. Senator Dr Tony Nwoye recalled all the ordeals he went through in his political journey to the senate, thanking the Almighty for rewarding his relentless and consistent drive to impact positively on the society from the platform of politics.
However, some of the prominent men who spoke at the De Rainbow Event Centre, Garki, where Sen Uba celebrated his inaugration expressed optimism that his continued representation at the 10th Assembly will give him more leveraged opportunities to deliver his mandate to his people.
Founder and National Chairman of Afamation Group, Mr Afam Ezenwankwo said ‘the most important thing one can put in place in south east is security and his Distinguished (Sen Uba) has done that even beyond pass mark and still doing more which can be confirmed through what he is doing in Nnewi, including Aguata and will still do in Ekwulobia. He assured that within six month, Anambra south will be affirmed of tight security’. Acknowledging the Senator as a man with lion heart, a fearless being who won’t allow insecurity to swallow his constituency.
Mr Afam noted that Sen Uba is a member of Afamation movement, the movement that breeds like minded people, whose ideology anchors on positive development. This is replicated in Sen Ifeanyi Uba foundation, ideology and mantra which gave way to collaboration among the two groups.
Also speaking, Chairman Cosco Investment Nigeria Honorable Cosmos Ogugua Agagbo in his words ‘ Uba is my very good friend and we are here to celebrate him, for his victory as a senator, He is a man of the people and Anambarians are all out for him’. I pray that the good Lord will grant all his heart desires, today he is a senator and tomorrow we pray he goes higher’.
Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah in his appreciation speech, thanked God, his family, friends, party members and campaign team for the role they all played in his emergence as the elected Senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone for the second time. Ubah maintained that his political ambition was driven by the passion to liberate the people from mediocre political representation and all the vices associated with it. He noted that he had tackled the problems of Ndi Anambra South using his platform with unparalleled fervor and reiterated his resolve to beat his own records this second time around.
Sen Ubah noted that the job of legislation and all the associated duties at the chambers required the kind of strength of will and wealth of negotiation power he brings to the table. He assured Ndi Anambra South that what dividends of democracy they had enjoyed from him in his first tenure would not come close to what he has in stock for them in his second tenure as Senator. Present at the event that couldn’t speak to the press were former Senator Uche Ekwunife, Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba, Chief Akai Egwuonwu (Zara Stores), friends and allies from the north, southwesterners and members of other tribes who took unreserved part in the jubilation.
