A concerned Citizen of Isuaniocha community in Awka North Local Govt but based in abroad, High Chief Valentine Nweke has called on the Govenror of Anambra State over an urgent planned protest by some suspected persons to counterbalance the peaceful protests undertaken by the indigenous people of Isuaniocha last week.
In a press statement made avaliable to News Echo on Monday 25th, 2023, High Chief Valentine Nweke disclosed that “It is with a profound sense of duty and a deep commitment to the prosperity of our great state, Anambra, that I as a fellow academia compose this correspondence to draw your distinguished attention to a matter of utmost significance”.
“In recent times, disturbing reports have surfaced, casting a shadow over the hallowed halls of governance in our state. These reports allege that the Commissioner for Homeland Security, the honorable Chikodili Anarah, is actively involved in orchestrating a recruitment effort of individuals hailing from his native community, Amanuke, as well as select segments of the Awka North communities. These individuals, it is believed, are being mobilized for a protest, the destination of which is none other than the illustrious Onyeagolu’s family”.
The statement further noted that “The Onyeagolu’s family’s noble legacy is one that has been etched in the annals of our state’s history. Their unwavering dedication to the cause of peace restoration in Isuaniocha has spanned numerous years.
Tirelessly, they have expended both financial resources and invaluable time in earnest pursuit of quelling the turmoil that has, regrettably, claimed countless lives”.
“The origins of this turmoil, it is whispered, trace back to the alleged actions of Mr. Anarah, whose motives appear to pivot around personal interests entwined with an endeavor to repossess ancestral lands held dear by the Isuaniocha community”.
“What serves as the fulcrum of our concern is the ominous revelation that the denizens of Isuaniocha, their hearts resonating with the call for tranquility, have rallied together in protest. These gatherings, held in an ardent quest for peace, were intended to extinguish the fires of unrest fanned by the purported activities of Mr. Anarah, activities which have regrettably culminated in the wanton destruction of lives and the annihilation of cherished properties”.
“Yet, in an alarming turn of events, it has now come to our attention that Commissioner Anarah is allegedly marshaling his compatriots and inhabitants from surrounding Awka North localities to counterbalance the peaceful protests undertaken by the indigenous people of Isuaniocha. Such an endeavor is widely perceived as an endeavor to shroud his perceived culpability in the ongoing conflagration”.
