….calls for the Govt Altruistic Approaches to humanity

A non-governmental organisation under the auspices of Tropical Gate Foundation has held a one-day free medical outreach for the elderly in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The event which took place at the Salvation Army, Amesi on 17th May, 2025 with the Theme: El RIO- The Lord That Sees Me, Genesis 16: 13 saw these women and men undertake Free medical check up, free drug for malaria and Typhoid, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Prostrate health, and eye checks among others.

Speaking at the Outreach, the Convener, Apostle Dr Nnamdi Mbaigbo, said his journey as a humanist has always revolved around the betterment of humanity. “With a background as a Salvationist, I have been instilled with the values of compassion and service—principles that encourage us to extend a helping hand to those in need while keeping our hearts anchored in faith. A pivotal moment came in 2015 when I experienced an awe-inspiring encounter with the supernatural power of Jesus Christ. In this moment, I heard an audible voice urging me that the matters affecting our communities required immediate attention. This profound revelation opened my eyes to the pain and suffering faced by many individuals. Moved by this encounter, I dedicated myself to the mission of not only addressing physical health but also seeking the spiritual salvation of those who are often overlooked and marginalized”.

Speaking further, “While I am proud of the strides we have made, I believe there is still significant room for improvement and wider community engagement. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. To enhance health development in Aguata, our government must adopt more intentional and altruistic approaches to uplift citizens. Furthermore, I encourage local elites and community leaders to actively participate by supporting government initiatives aimed at improving health and economic well-being. By fostering a sense of shared prosperity and collective responsibility, we can work together to create a healthier, more equitable society for everyone in Aguata”.

Additionally, I invite the community to provide more opportunities for collaboration and service. Together, we can identify and address the pressing needs of our people. I also urge anyone interested in making a difference to join us as volunteers in supporting the Tropical Gate Foundation for Sustainable Development. Together, we can create sustainable solutions that will benefit our communities for generations to come”, he concluded.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent, Mrs Anthonia Ozigbo and Mrs Rose Mojekwu expressed satisfaction with the services rendered to them. According to Ozigbo, “I am happy for the treatment. For over two years, free services have been given to me. God bless those who make this possible”.

Another Beneficiary who is a banker, Mrs Ejike Joy, said for five years she has benefitted from the medical outreach, which is a boost to her wellbeing. “The drugs and treatment they give me always work. I have benefited for five years now, each time I hear of the medical outreach I must attend, and after taking the malaria and Typhoid drugs, I feel better.
