In a strong show of support, the Transformation Ambassadors of Nnewi (TAN) have rallied behind Ambassador Paul Muoneke, urging him to enter the race for the Nnewi North Local Government chairmanship in the upcoming elections. The group cited his exemplary leadership history and commitment to community development as key reasons for their endorsement.
Ambassador Muoneke, who recently completed his term as the President of the Nnewi Youth Forum, has earned a reputation for his integrity, dedication, and impactful leadership. His tenure as a youth leader was marked by significant achievements that left a lasting impression on the community.
Recently, the Umudim Youth Development Association celebrated Amb. Muoneke’s contributions with a special event welcoming him back with enthusiasm and recognizing his unwavering dedication to the community. During the gathering, Mr. Innocent Nzewi, a prominent speaker, emphasized the urgent need for a leader in Nnewi who embodies patriotism and is ready to prioritize the welfare of the people. He highlighted that TAN, under the leadership of Amb. Muoneke, was established with a vision to advance the community’s interests rather than political ambitions.
“Nnewi has the potential to be a beacon of progress in Africa, but this requires leadership that puts the community first,” Mr. Nzewi stated. He called on the community to make informed choices in the upcoming election, underscoring Amb. Muoneke’s track record as a leader who has consistently delivered on his promises.
Supporting this sentiment, Mr. Caleb Okeke-Enyobi, Publicity Secretary of TAN, lauded Amb. Muoneke as the ideal candidate for the chairmanship, stressing the importance of electing a leader with the integrity to manage the local government’s affairs responsibly. He urged voters to resist the temptation of short-term gains and instead support a candidate who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the community.
In his address, Mr. Ben Orizu reflected on Amb. Muoneke’s accomplishments, including revitalizing several organizations he led and making significant strides as Chairman of the Community-Based Organization (CBO) and the Nnewi Youth Forum (NYF). He assured the gathering that, if elected, Amb. Muoneke would prioritize addressing the community’s pressing needs, such as improving water supply, enhancing the business environment for traders, empowering the youth to reduce crime, and tackling environmental issues.
Mr. Caleb Okeke also revealed that consultations have already begun with the leadership of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) at both the State and Local Government levels, to secure the necessary backing for Amb. Muoneke’s candidacy. He expressed confidence that with continued support, Amb. Muoneke would emerge as the clear choice to lead Nnewi North into a new era of development.
“Nnewi deserves a leader who is both capable and committed. I am ready to take on this responsibility, but it requires your support,” Amb. Muoneke concluded, urging the community to come together and work towards the shared goal of developing Nnewi.
