The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Friday, reassured various community leaders in the Senatorial District that he will not relent in putting in more measures in place to support them in their legitimate activities and promote the wellbeing of their people.
Senator Ubah made the remarks when members of the Abuja Chapter of Nnewi Community Forum paid him a courtesy visit at his Maitama Abuja residence.
According to him, community leaders contribute a lot in community development, and it is necessary to provide them with every needed support.
Senator Ubah expressed his appreciation to the forum for their continuous support and announced a donation of a parcel of land for the construction of the proposed Seven Hundred Million Naira Ultramodern Nnewi House in Abuja.
Speaking further on the proposed edifice which parts of its funding will be facilitated by his office, Senator Ubah disclosed that One Hundred Million Naira funding towards the project is already captured in the 2023 Nigerian Budget and the project when completed is meant to provide skill acquisition facilities for ndị Nnewi that resides in Abuja.
He also added that the facility will be equipped with units that will provide support to Nnewi indigenes whenever they visit Abuja and will also provide job opportunities for the people.
The Senator also informed the gathering that the project’s Foundation Laying Ceremony will hold on or before September 3rd, 2023 and assured the people of Anambra South Senatorial District that similar plans to support the development of their various communities are also in the pipeline.
He also promised to lead the fundraising team to meet up with the amount to complete the project in a record time.
Responding on behalf of the visitors, Architect Ude Ikotuonye (Akupuome), who is also the Chairman of the forum, appreciated Senator Ubah for his giant contributions in the development of Nnewi and other parts of Anambra South Senatorial District.
He further disclosed that they were there to congratulate him on his re-election and to also appreciate him for making ndị Anambra South proud, especially in the area of security.
Arch. Ikotuonye also commended the Senator for his Security Pilot Scheme, which has been successfully tested in Nnewi, the political and economic capital of Anambra South Senatorial District, and urged him to keep on with the good works .Arc Ikotuonye also appreciated Senator Ubah for his sacrifices to ensure that the Nnewi House in Abuja project is executed and reassured him that the forum will continue to give him every necessary support.
