A group, known as Alliance for Concerned Northern and Southern Citizens for Nigerian Unity, ACNSCNU has endorsed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for the position of Senate President. In a statement by Adamu Samaila, the group ‘s Secretary, ACNSCNU said its choice was anchored on the need to balance the equation of power in Nigeria by giving Igbos sense of belonging.
The group said that for equity, peace and fairness to reign in Nigeria, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu should be elected as the next Senate President as according to them, it would be most unfair to deny the people of the South East a sense of belonging.
ACNSCNU members who also drummed support for President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration , advised his political opponents to apply peaceful means in their legal approaches in way that would not threaten the peace of the nation.
The group which said it has branches and membership in different Stats of the federation, advised Senator Godswill Akpabio to step down for Senator Kalu and support the ambition of the former Abia State Governor. Because of Kalu’s acceptability in different parts of the country and his experience in the red chamber, having served as the Senate Chief Whip.
” We advice Senator Godswill Akpabio to shelve his ambition, step down for Senator Kalu and support him for the position of Senate President. “We need unity, peace, equity and power equation in this country”, Adamu Samaila said.
