Member of the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Sierra Leone, and Chief Executive Officer of Yennco World Trade Limited, Dr. Onyeka Nwafor, has called on businesses, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs to participate actively in the maiden annual Nigeria-Sierra Leone Trade Fair scheduled to hold in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The trade fair, which is expected to strengthen economic and commercial ties between both countries, will take place from July 27 to August 9, 2026, at the Miatta Conference Centre, Freetown.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Nwafor said the primary objective of the fair is to promote Made-in-Nigeria products and create greater market access for Nigerian businesses in Sierra Leone and the wider West African region.
He noted that the annual trade volume between Nigeria and Sierra Leone currently stands at approximately $5 million and Nigeria’s export valued at roughly $2.96 million, describing it as a modest but steadily growing bilateral economic relationship with significant potential for expansion.
According to him, the trade fair will provide exhibitors with numerous opportunities, including access to a massive audience, high-level networking with industry stakeholders, multi-channel media exposure, product launch platforms, business-to-business (B2B) matchmaking sessions, and participation certificates.
Dr. Nwafor emphasized that the event would serve as a strategic platform for fostering cross-border trade, attracting investment, and promoting economic cooperation between Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
He therefore urged government officials, manufacturers, exporters, small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), and investors to take advantage of the exhibition to showcase their products and services, build valuable partnerships, and explore new business opportunities in the region.
The Nigeria-Sierra Leone Trade Fair is expected to attract participants from various sectors of the economy, further enhancing trade relations and strengthening economic integration between the two West African nations.
