The Chief Executive Officer, Tropical Gate Foundation for Sustainable Development, Apostle Dr Nnamdi Mbaigbo has been awarded certificate of participation and paper presentation by the Centre for Gender Studies (CGS) in collaboration with Centre for Migration Studies (CMS), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

 

The certificate was awarded on 18th October, during the 1st Professor Akachi Ezeigbo International Conference on Gender, 2024 with its Theme, titled “Gender Dynamics in African Diaspora, Literature, Education and Visual Arts and Performance”.

 

Presenting the paper by Dr Nnamdi Mbaigbo, Pastor Obadiah, and Christian Ezeibe titled

Hate Campaign, Election Violence and Women Participation in OFF Cycle Governorship Election in Nigeria, said the nexus among these aforementioned has become a critical issues in electoral politics especially in fragile democracies.

 

He pointed out that they relied on the feminist conflict theory and adopted the exploratory descriptive research design. Sample areas include, Anambra, Ekiti, Osun, Logi and Edo State, Nigeria.

 

Appreciating the esteemed Scholars, and organisers of the conference, Apostle Dr. Nnamdi Mbaigbo said “on behalf of our community, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Centre for Gender Studies and the Centre for Migration for accepting and recognizing our paper during the intellectual presentation themed “Gender Dynamics in Africa and the African Diaspora: Literature, Education, Visual Art, and Performance.”

 

“Your acknowledgment of our work has not only validated our efforts but has also inspired us to continue our pursuit of knowledge and understanding in these vital areas. The presentations were enlightening and impactful, fostering a deeper dialogue on these crucial topics”.

Some of the authors who spoke at the conference were, Ojo, Idowu Joseph ( Female Gender in Visual Art Practice; Challenges and Prospects), Osondu Okoronkwo (Characteristic of English Language Learning, context in Nigeria, Gender Phenomenon in Focus), among others.
