Staffs of Imo State Water and Sewerage Corporation have lamented 8 months nonpayment of their salaries by the government.

Some of the staff who anonymously spoke to our reporter, Tuesday at the corporation’s office, Okigwe Road, Owerri, complained that in spite of the meager salaries they receive monthly, most of them are still being owed for 8 months by the state government

“We are deeply indebted. Hunger is ravaging us and we scarcely meet the financial needs of our families”, cried a ,idle aged woman.

The workers who disclosed that both engineers and office workers of the corporation were bitter about nonpayment of their 8 months salaries. They regretted that Uzodimma told them earlier that he was withholding their salaries because he wants to flush out ghost workers in the corporation, but failed in his promise to redeem the salaries after learning that there were no ghost workers.
