The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu Tuesday appointed Prof Maxwell Onyemachi Ogbulu, a seasoned finance expert as the new Vice Chancellor of Abia State University, Uturu.
In a statement signed by Mr Chris Ezem, the Secretary to the Abia State government, the Governor said the appointment of Prof Ogbulu as the new Vice Chancellor of ABSU followed the recommendation and presentation by the governing council of the school, adding that the appointment would take effect from December 1, 2020.
The governor also stated that the tenure of the current VC, Prof Uche Ikonne would expire on November 1, 2020
Until his new appointment, Prof Ogbulu was the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Abia State University, Uturu and was the head of department of business administration of ABSU (2003-2015). He is also a Professor of Finance.
Ogbulu who is also a fellow of Chartered Institute of Finance and Investment Analysts hails from Ukwa LGA of the State.
