The traditional ruler of Obosi community in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, have praised the outgoing State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye on his retirement from the force after 35 years in service and 10 months in charge of Anambra State police Command.

 

News Echo reports that CP Adeoye was appointed the state’s Commissioner of Police on mid 2023, replacing Echeng Echeng, who on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General Of Police, was redeployed to Zone 9, Umuahia.

Igwe Iweka, Kabiesi and the Commissioner for Industry spoke at the pull out parade of CP Aderemi Adeoye after 35 years of meritorious service to the nation held at the Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka on Sat, 27th April, 2024 equally congratulated the retired CP and his families for their services and sacrifices to Ndi Anambra .

Speaking at the ceremony Eze Igweka the 3rd, Eze of Obosi Kingdom described CP Adeoye as a man principled with well deserved honours and outstanding performances during his career in the Nigerian police service.

“He is a man of integrity, not and average nigerian police man he is a dedicated cop, and his actions while in Anambra state is worthy of emulation. We are here to stand with a man of honour, especially in this profession, he stood out”

Also speaking, The kabiesi of Yoruba nation in Anambra, Oba Alhaji Abdulrazak Olahu said the ceremony is a unique one because “today we are celebrating our beloved son, Father, brother and so we are happy to be here and celebrate with him at his retirement from thirty five years of services. While praying for his long life and good health.

The Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Udechukwu Christian in his speech posited that It’s a beautiful day for the Police Commissioner, Adeoye who have served with merit for the people of Anambra state, and the Nigerian goverment in general.

Mr Udechukwu however wished him a happy retirement and a fruitful reward of his endeavours to humanity and the nation.

Meanwhile, the reception was held at the International Civic Centre, Awka were hundreds of people came to dine and wine with Adeoye with presentation of gifts and book launch formed the high point of the ceremony.
