Solomon Boyo’s stunning strike in the 18th minute of the match was all the home side, FC ONE Rocket needed to see off Solution FC in one of the match day 9 fixtures of the ongoing 2023-24 Nigeria National League (NNL) played on Saturday, 20th January 2024.

Coach Uche Okagbue’s led technical crew stock to the side that defeated Ikorodu City FC last weekend save for two changes made to the side as Damian Nwankwo who has been out for three matches and Daniel Okpodi got the nod to usurp Best Albangbee and Cosmas Ukoh respectively in the starting 11.
The home team asked the first question in the 8th minute as Columba Augustine failed to convert his effort inside the box after running past Solution FC defender Gabriel Akpan to connect with Emmanuel Onotu’s diagonal pass.
The only goal of the game was then scored by Solomon Boyo’s stunning effort inside the box in the 18th minute after receiving the ball from Reagan Igwebuike’s throw-in as he beat his marker to unleash the belter into the bottom right corner of the post.
Midfield Maestro and free kick specialist, Chuddy Onyeka came close to restoring parity with two minutes remaining of the first stanza as his shot from about 40 yards out ricocheted off the upright and sailed out for a goal kick.
In the second half, within three minutes of the restart, substitute and skilful Charles Egbe tucked his effort into the net off a rebound from overlapping Calistus Oputa’s dangerous cross into the box which was poorly handled by Charles Etim but the centre referee chalked off the effort in a very controversial manner.
With five minutes to go, Chuddy Onyeka’s trademark free kick from about 35 yards out forced the Rocket goalkeeper, Philip Lordful to pull off a brilliant save punching the ball out for a corner kick as time ran out on the Solution Boys with the home side running away with the maximum points.
Solution FC will next face International Lagos FC for the upcoming match day 10 programme.
