It was a moment of joy for a triple celebration party as former Deputy Inspector General of Police, in charge of Zone 13, DIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, marked his birthday, retirement and promotion.
Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 13 Ukpo Dunukofia LGA, ASP Chidera Oha made in his press statement made available to newsmen on 24th April 2026 said the celebration was held at the zone 13 police headquarters Ukpo, Dunukofia local government of Anambra State on 14th April, 2026.
According to ASP Oha, “Today we honoured a distinguished leader, DIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo who meritoriously bows out of service today being 24th April 2026. Which is also his Birthday.”

“Prior to his promotion as a Deputy Inspector General of Police on 22 April 2026, he was the Assistant inspector General of police in charge of zone 13 Ukpo Dunukofia LGA Anambra state.”
The occasion was attended by very senior police officers such as the commissioner of police Anambra state,Enugu state and Delta state respectively. Others dignitaries include the Director of DSS, State commandant of NSCDC, Corps commander of FRSC,Director of Environmental health,the traditional ruler/clan head of Ukpo kingdom(okofia VI),the traditional ruler of Ihiala(Oluoha),POWA Anambra and Enugu state chapter, heads of PCRC units,Director Nigeria breweries(south East),Yoruba cultural group and other senior stakeholders from other agencies in Anambra state.
The statement further notes that “During his farewell speech, the DIG who was formerly AIG zone 13 appreciated the kind gesture exhibited by the public all the through his stay in the zone 13 Headquarters Ukpo which covers both Anambra and Enugu States.”
Another notable events which took place was the commissioning of the Zonal Computer intelligence Unit (ZCIU) which serves an intelligence Lab equipped with modern facilities in order to tackle modern cybercrimes and other vices thereby giving the zone a good cybersecurity. The cyber unit was built and commissioned by DIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo.
The events also featured Goodwill messages, cutting of Birthday cakes, toast, cultural dances and guard of honour from the pupils of Police Children school 1 and 2 Awka, tug of war and other notable presentations.
The ceremony was climaxed with Presentations of gifts, Awards and a group photograph
