The incoming Senator to represent Anambra South Zone, Chief Akai Egwuonwu joins Okpataozuoha na Ukpor to bury mum, as APGA grassroots greet with solidarity songs.

 

The incoming Senator to represent Anambra South Senatorial district, High Chief Akai Egwuonwu on Wednesday joined the families of High Chief Sir Okwudilichukwu Igweka (Okpataozuoha na Ukpor) to bid farewell to their late Matriarch, Mrs Roseline Nwoke Igweka.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the major contender in the forthcoming by-election in Anambra South, High Chief Egwuonwu urged the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

 

He said that the family’s Matriarch, Mrs Igweka who died at the age of 89 lived well with legacies she would be remembered for.

 

A great number All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) members around the area trouped out with solidarity songs demanding that it is the turn of Nnewi South to go to Senate. That was the moment they sighted High Chief Egwuonwu in the company of other APGA stalwarts.

 

Egwuonwu who never wanted to turn the condolence visit to a political event only acknowledged the crowd with a wave of hand as he only bellowed the party’s acronym to recognize the members presence and their solidarity. (Okpataozuoha na Ukpor) to bid farewell to their late Matriarch, Mrs Roseline Nwoke Igweka.

 

The burial witnessed the presence of Executive Governor of Anambra state, Prof Charles Soludo; his Ekiti State counterpart, Governor Biodun Oyebanji; the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Somtochukwu Udeze; the State Commissioner for Environment, Engr Felix Odimegwu and other political bigwigs.
