All has not been heard of last week’s discovery of a shrine inside a bush at Amaekpu Ohafia, Ohafia LGA of Abia State.
Some youths on a hunting expedition reportedly discovered a tree inside a forest at Amaekpu, where various private belongings of people were nailed to the tree, by two alleged native doctors, Mr. Udensi Ikah, and another unnamed native doctor from Amaekpu Ohafia.

This development which was confirmed by a youth leader, Kalu Mba Kalu caused ripples in the Amaekpu community, entire Ohafia area and even adjourning villages and beyond as they thronged the scene of the discovery to know if their missing items were among those nailed to the tree.
A community source in Ohafia confirmed the discovery to News Echo but pleaded not to be named. He revealed that the items found in the shrine included pictures of people, braziers, doll babies, shoes, slippers, tied parcels, female gowns among others.

Also discovered was a list containing people’s names
The Amaekpu Ohafia source equally added that “most of those whose photos were identified, have rushed into the bush to retrieve their pictures and even many of them have gone to some churches and other ministries to deliver them from every evil spell associated with the shine “

He also disclosed that some items whose owners were yet to identify, were still on the tree, even as youths of Amaekpu had concluded plans to cut down the ‘evil tree’ as well as seize the forest from the alleged native doctors, until further notice.
It will be recalled that in mid 2020, an alleged satanic temple belonging to a controversial native doctor, Mr. Udo Ifekwe, was discovered and pulled down by youths of Ebem Ohafia. The founder, Ifekwe Udo was alleged to be a proponent of Church of Satan, among other allegations. He was after the incident, banished from Ohafia land by elders and youths of the clan.
