The Anambra State Deputy Speaker, Dr Chukwuma Okoye, Ozo mkpuluobi Amawbia during the weekend engaged in an interactive session with the Anambra Patriots, a political group tasked with the responsibility of ensuring good governance and supporting credible candidates during elections.
The event which took place at the Group’s Secretariat at Awka has the opportunity for the Amawbia Born to present his numerous achievements as well as inform them of his decision to contest and represent the good people of Awka North and South in the federal House of Representatives.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Anambra Patriots, Chief Damian Ezekwechi disclosed that the group’s aim was to ensure that credible and committed candidates are identified and supported by the group during elections.
“While we remain open to all aspirants our ultimate goal, we are mandated to ensure that we support candidates with no questionable character, someone that has integrity, and is credible.”
Earlier in his submission, the National Convener Architect Okey Ezeobi urged for collective efforts to strengthen political force in the state. Adding that Anambra Patriots are ever ready to throw their full support to whoever the group has endorsed.
Addressing the masses, the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Et Hon Chukwuma Pius Okoye, (Ozo Mkpuluobi Amawbia) a revered traditional man, said his intentions to represent the people of his constituency at the green chambers to to ensure that constituency development projects are initiated and delivered to Awka North and South.

As a current house member I have bills co-sponsored and passed into law, motions sponsored and moved that have brought transformation to Anambra State.”
“Some of my development projects include, Social Amenities and Security – installation of solar street lights at Isiakpu village, Nise, Adabebe, Ngene villages, Amawbia, Ezinator community, donation of shuttle bus to Adabebe vigilante group, another Shuttle bus to Amawbia security, construction of motorised borehole at Eziegbe Obeagu Ara village, Nise, rehabilitation of culvert/drainage at Agbana village Umuawulu.
Education – distribution of writing materials to Obizi Free annual holiday lesson, digital skills training for mgbakwu youths, scholarships to pupils of Umuenu community primary school Umuawulu, presentation of cash to best performing students, certificates and laptops, construction of perimeter fence with gate at Umuenu Primary school Umuawulu and Union Secondary School, Amawbia, donation of white boards, among others.
Health – free dental outreach across the seven communities in Obizi, health insurance programmes, distribution of palliatives during Covid 19,
Social Infrastructure- renovation of Ezinator Town Hall, Awka South, completion of Umuaja, completion of umuaja, kindred with motorised over tanks.”

Others include human capital development and constituency employment, sport enhancement and support.
In their separate remarks, State Coordinator, Awka South Constituency 1, Hon Charles Nweke noted that Ozo Okoye has proven himself beyond reasonable doubt and as such deserves the position of the federal House of Assembly, where he can do much better than he had done. “He is our very own, we all witnessed his achievements which are still there for anyone to see and has proven himself as a capacity leader and so let’s join hands together and support his mandate.

State Coordinator, Awka South 11, Hon Uche Nkwocha noted that the Anambra Deputy Speaker is a man of integrity and transparency as the track records speak volumes. He called on every eligible voter in Awka North and South to vote for him again to continue his good works.
State Coordinator Awka North Hon Samuel Okoye described him as a trusted man. We the Awka North is here to give our support, because we believe in what you can do. Your leadership roles are exemplary and there is no doubt that when you go to the green chambers we will continue to benefit our constituency projects.
Meanwhile, some of the members were party faithfuls and loyalists to Hon Okoye spanning through communities from Awka South and North who cheered with happiness amidst glamour.
