Benue Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Victoria Asher, is dead.
Asher is the second Benue NUJ chairman to die in office.
She took over from David Ukuma, who died six months after he got to the office
A statement by the Secretary of NUJ Benue Council, Mr. Moses Akaahan, said Asher died at Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi (FMC) around 8am on Saturday after she was operated upon.
Akahaan said Benue NUJ Council will give notice for an emergency congress to that effect in due course.
