Human life revolves around beliefs and trust only. Every night we go to the bed, thinking that we will wake up the next day. The same way we carry on many of our actions with the feeling that everything will move smoothly. A driver takes out the bus from the garage believing the usual safety check was done by the concerned technician. The faith that everybody will perform his duty earnestly keeps the life cycle moving.
However, upsets do happen in the system due to the natural and human factors. When such upset arises from unfaithfulness, disloyalty is said to be committed. The other names of such aberration are treason, treachery, betrayal, infidelity, backstabbing, cheating, etc. Betrayal existed from the ancient times as seen from the history and mythology. The bible reflects the case of Adam who ate the apple of Eden disobeying the Creator.
An aged father gifted his estates to his only son with the belief that he would take care of him in his twilight years. However, the son did not only forsake the father having sent to the orphanage for older people but spread bad opinion about the latter. A case of absolute infidelity, indeed!
In the office, one staff member used to give the wrong opinion about his colleagues to the gullible boss for gaining undue favours like promotion and continuation in the same office. However, the bad guy got shunted to a remote office after the knowing by the head office.
Politics reflects all sorts of disloyalty in the society. The citizens cast their votes for the candidate of the opposite party, though they received gifts like cash and utensils from the ruling party. In fact, this was the payback for the treason committed by the incumbent politicians who did not care for the electorate after the last elections. ‘Corruption by all means’ has become the byword for all politicians to make the fast bucks.
National security is the worst affected by the evils of treachery. People in the highest offices act as traitors to sacrifice their country’s safety and resources to satisfy their personal desires. Espionage made to share the confidential information, and scams perpetrated in the arms and aircraft deals are some examples of the anti-national activities.
Business world generates the profit by giving the false information and misleading the public and the customers. Drug producers pamper the doctors to push their unhealthy products in the market. Corporates fund the election expenses of political parties, to get favors later for their business.
One thing is definite. Any action is bound to return to the self. If a person secures his life by cheating others, he is bound to suffer the same after some time. One can escape the laws of the land, but not the destiny. According to Hinduism, Fruits of the actions in one birth are reaped in the next birth only.
