The Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) has launched its Strategic Health Development Plan (SHDP) in commemoration of the world Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day 2024 with the theme “Health: It’s On The Government”. This initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to advancing universal health access across Anambra State.
The Managing Director and CEO of ASHIA, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, highlighted the SHDP as a pivotal framework designed to expand health insurance coverage and ensure wider enrollment in the state’s health insurance scheme.
The plan aligns with Nigeria’s national UHC goals, underscoring the state’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability for its residents.
This launch is a milestone in Anambra State’s journey towards achieving UHC at the subnational level, emphasizing inclusivity and equitable healthcare delivery.
