Armed Forces Remembrance Day: CP Echeng honours dead security personnel in Anambra

The Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng during the weekend joined other service commanders in the state, to honor our security forces/personnel who paid the supreme price in service to the Nation.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Dsp Ikenga Tochukwu while disclosing this to News Echo reports that the event took place at the Alex Ekwueme square, Awka, the Anambra state capital.

According to Ikenga, “In keeping the hope alive, the Commissioner states that the occasion gives cause for reflection to remind us of the sacrifices made by our security forces in preserving the unity of this country and protecting lives and property”.

The highlights of the event include the Inspection of the parade mounted by the Nigeria Army, Navy, and Nigeria legion by HE Governor Chukwuma Soludo CFR, prayers and observation of silence for the fallen officers, the placing of wreaths, and other significant exhibitions that made the event colorful.

Meanwhile, families of some of those being honoured appreciated the Commissioner for his kind gesture while praying to God to grant eternal rest to the souls of thier loved ones.
