The APGA Apostles Forum, a frontline socio-political group comprising achievers from different walks of life, has resolved to work for the victory of all candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was reached during the group’s third anniversary celebration and the unveiling of its roadmap for the 2027 general elections, held in Awka, Anambra State.

The group said it would work to ensure that APGA wins all three senatorial seats, the 11 House of Representatives seats and the 30 seats in the Anambra State House of Assembly. It also set a target of mobilising more than two million votes for the party.

Speaking at the event, the National Convener of the APGA Apostles Forum, Chief Nchekwube Anthony Chinedu (Dunga), said the group had, over the past three years, propagated the ideals of APGA across the state, with its activities extending to all 326 political wards and 5,700 polling units.

Dunga acknowledged that the journey had not been easy but said the forum remained a result-oriented organisation determined to ensure that APGA did not lose any seat in the forthcoming national and state assembly elections.

According to him, the group has established grassroots structures across the state to ensure victory for APGA in the 2027 elections.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, represented at the occasion by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Barrister Chekwube Ezeike, described the theme of the anniversary, “Disruptive Solutions for Ndi-Anambra,” as apt and timely.

Ezeokenwa said the theme underscored the need for a departure from conventional politics, adding that the party must be prepared to overcome every obstacle standing in the way of its victory across the 326 political wards in the state.

He stressed that the target was achievable, noting that APGA had accomplished a similar feat in the past.

The APGA national chairman also acknowledged the innovative and transformative leadership of the Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, particularly in the areas of security and digital reforms, as well as the governor’s Vision 2070 development agenda for future generations.

One of the leading figures in the APGA Apostles Forum, Chief Chika Ibeneme, who reflected on the group’s three-year journey, said the organisation had overcome numerous challenges through resilience, steadfastness and an unwavering focus on its goals.

Ibeneme, who spoke on the group’s operations and activities over the past three years, said the forum was determined to go the extra mile to achieve victory for APGA in the forthcoming elections.

He expressed gratitude to members of the forum, the Council of Patrons, coordinators and other stakeholders for their support and belief in the organisation despite the challenges it had faced.

Ibeneme urged APGA members to return to their respective wards and commence grassroots mobilisation, insisting that the party must win the 11 House of Representatives seats, 30 State House of Assembly seats and three senatorial seats in the state.

The guest speaker and Director of Planning and Strategy of the APGA Apostles Forum, Hon. Emeka Ozumba, delivered a lecture titled “APGA Apostles: Reclaim the Grassroots and Win the 2027 Elections.”

Among other recommendations, Ozumba called for the establishment of functional APGA structures in all 326 political wards across the state.

He also disclosed that the APGA Apostles Forum had developed 10 strategic pillars to drive the party’s electoral success. These, he said, included grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation, political education and reorientation, and the establishment of election support structures, among others.

The Anambra State Coordinator of the APGA Apostles Forum and incumbent Executive Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Chief Tony Nweze Nwora, who is also the APGA candidate for the Onitsha North and South Federal Constituency in next year’s election, said the group had an enormous task ahead.

Nwora charged members of the forum to deliver their respective polling units to APGA in the forthcoming elections.

He also called for efforts to surpass the group’s target of 2.1 million votes for the party, expressing confidence that the forum had the strength and grassroots spread to secure victory for APGA in the August 29 local government elections in the state and the 2027 National Assembly elections.

Highlights of the third anniversary celebration included an acrobatic cultural dance display, musical performances and the cutting of the anniversary cake.
