Thousands of people, party faithfuls of Action Alliance and groups on Thursday 3rd July, played host at Awka, Anambra state capital and endorsed the Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Chief Ezechukwu Japhet Nweke.

This came as they equally showed their solidarity during a grand declaration ceremony held at Marble Arc hotel for the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Ozo Ezechulwu Japhet Nweke, ahead of the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.

 

Speaking during his opening remark, the Candidate, Anambra South Senatorial bye election under the platform of AA party – Hon Chijioke Onyekaonwu described Awka as the engine room of Anambra state whose time has come to produce the next Governor of the state. “God has blessed us that Ozo Jeff is a native of Awka qualified with connections, wherewithal and courageous enough to lead us to Agu Awka after November 8th polls. We are going to run this campaign like a locomotive engine and once we commence there is no going back until we get to the government house. I recommend him and urge you all to rally around him with your votes for this success to be achieved.

 

In the same vein, Leader Ezinano community, Ozo Ozoemena Ezekwesili explained that his community is fully behind him owing to numerous developmental projects done within and out side the community which serves as a testament to his leadership prowess.

 

Woman leader, Mrs Gloria Ezekwesili maintained that Ozo Alert is God sent and a game changer. Someone who remembers his very own and always eager to assist women, the less privileged and unemployed in the community. She however informed that the women folk is prepared to vote him into power.

 

Mrs Ngonadi Joy, Founder, Awka South Rural Women and Mrs Anene Patricia, Awka, Chairperson Women in Politics, Anambra Chapter equally threw their support behind the candidacy of Ozo Japhet Nweke. They praised his contributions to local security efforts, particularly in the Awka metropolis. “We can now sleep with both eyes closed,” the peace restored in the area under Nweke’s influence is highly recommended.

 

Earlier in his address, Ozo Chief Nweke, a respected community leader and native of Awka, who was officially presented as the party’s flagbearer by Action Alliance Party excos noted that his commitment to inclusive governance, peace, and sustainable development is paramount. “This is not just a campaign,” “This is a movement for dignity, for progress, and for the rebirth of our dear Anambra.”he said.

He pledged to decisively tackle insecurity across the state if elected, and promised to prioritize youth employment by creating sustainable economic opportunities.

“My mission is simple: to wipe away the tears of hunger, unemployment, and deprivation from our people,” “Our people are suffering. I am coming to bring succour to the forgotten and the voiceless.”Nweke declared. Calling on Anambra residents to vote wisely in the upcoming election, he urged them to choose leadership that will advance the state’s development, peace, and prosperity above security.

 

Also, Mrs Amaka and Mrs Anthony representstives from Enugwu-Agidi a town previously plagued by protracted land disputes, commended Nweke for his conflict resolution efforts, crediting him with restoring calm and preserving lives and property in the community.

 

They lauded Nweke’s leadership credentials, describing him as a “bridge-builder,” a “visionary,” and “a man of the people.”

 

Also, Representatives of the Yoruba and Hausa communities emphasised the relations shared with Jeff over the years and pledged their support, praising Nweke for his inclusive governance style and longstanding commitment to grassroots development. “He doesn’t see us as strangers,” “He has stood by us in times of need, and we will stand by him in this election.” Alhaji Musa Abdullahi, an Hausa community leader said.

 

Meanwhile, the cheerful crowds present chanted Yes Jeff!, tagged with an unconventional nickname Nigga which depicts street credibility, a man of the people. Those recognised were traditional rulers, youth organizations and leaders, women’s groups, and some representstives of non-indigenous communities.
